Job summary

Mainstay is building AI‑powered workflow systems to enable real estate operations at scale. We seek a senior full‑stack engineer who can design, implement, and ship production features across the stack using Python, TypeScript, and React on AWS.

You’ll contribute to backend services, data workflows, and frontend experiences while benchmarking LLMs and guiding technical decisions that impact investor decisions. This role offers remote collaboration with autonomy and ownership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production‑grade software experience in fast‑paced startups.
• Hands‑on experience developing and deploying AI features.
• Strong full‑stack skills with a backend‑first approach.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all phases of product development, from ideation to iteration.
• Design reliable, scalable backend services to support AI features in production.
• Build and evolve backend services and APIs that handle large datasets.
• Develop frontend and backend product experiences that are intuitive and actionable.
• Evaluate and benchmark LLM performance across latency, cost, accuracy, and hallucination.
• Own technical decisions for systems at the center of Mainstay’s SaaS platform.
• Partner with product, design, data science, and data engineering to translate needs.
• Improve system reliability, performance, and maintainability as the platform scales.
• Modernize legacy workflows with software-driven insights.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and shared standards.
