Compass is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Developer Intelligence pillar to advance AI-assisted workflows and observability across our engineering platform. You will own components that collect and operationalize telemetry data, integrate AI tools, and improve developer velocity.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with autonomous delivery.
• Proficiency in Go and Python; telemetry pipelines and AI workflows preferred.
• Experience with data pipelines, telemetry streams, observability infra, or developer metrics frameworks.
• Experience embedding AI models, LLM APIs, or automated orchestration tools into pipelines or triage workflows.
• Experience deploying and operating software components on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and implement technical solutions for Developer Intelligence systems, focusing on telemetry and AI-assisted tooling.
• Analyze workflows and SDLC feedback loops to design testable, maintainable components.
• Build subsystems that collect, correlate, and operationalize data from CI/CD pipelines, source control, and testing infrastructure.
• Write high-quality code to integrate AI tools into engineering workflows, including automated reviews, validation, and triage.
• Collaborate with teammates to balance requirements, remove roadblocks, and participate in design reviews.
• Identify bottlenecks, automate processes, and keep codebases clean and maintainable.
• Mentor peers, provide code reviews, and train newer team members on platform architecture.
