Job summary

Cvent, Inc. is seeking a senior, builder-minded Application Security Engineer to shape the future of AI-enabled security across our platforms. You will own product security for a portfolio, architect agentic AI workflows, and partner with engineering to deliver secure software at scale.

We’re looking for 5+ years in AppSec, strong scripting, cloud security expertise, and a track record of delivering production-grade security tooling. Hybrid work with 2 days in office; competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in application security with hands-on ownership.
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Bash.
• Experience integrating security tooling into CI/CD and SDLC, and improving it over time.
• Strong familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; GCP or Azure acceptable) and cloud-native security.
• Proficiency with security testing and cloud security tools (e.g., Burp Suite, Checkmarx, Mend, Veracode, Fortify, ZAP, Wiz).
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of at least one security tool, automation, or agentic/LLM-integrated workflow.

Responsibilities

• Architect AI-first security automation — design agentic systems and skills for end-to-end security workflow.
• Lead the development of security agents and AI tooling — define architecture for LLM-integrated workflows.
• Drive AI-assisted threat modeling at scale — embed methodologies into automation and guide pentest scoping.
• Set standard for AI feature security — define coverage models and assessment criteria for GenAI/AI/ML features.
• Own integration and scaling of SAST, DAST, and SCA across CI/CD with AI-assisted triage.
• Perform and lead deep secure design reviews, code reviews, threat modeling, and penetration testing for complex systems.
• Own product security for an assigned portfolio — drive threat modeling and risk decisions with teams.
• Mentor Engineers II and mid-level teammates to grow AI/AppSec capability.
• Communicate risk clearly to engineering and leadership, supporting ISO 27001, SOC 2 and PCI.
