Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer for Developer Intelligence to serve as the principal architectural authority across Vertex AI, DeepMind, and Cloud Security. You will own long-term technical outlook, ensure architectural cohesion, and set engineering standards for our AI developer tools and runtimes.

You will design unifying protocols and distributed execution layers linking client tools, Cloud infrastructure, and sandboxed VM runtimes in Vertex AI to host first- and third-party agents,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 7 years of experience leading technical project strategy, ML design, and optimizing industry-scale ML infrastructure.
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
• 2 years of experience with GenAI techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design the end-to-end AI developer platform and establish technical roadmaps.
• Advocate for agent communication standards and isolation primitives for untrusted code.
• Set performance and latency standards; lead architecture reviews.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote knowledge sharing across Google Cloud.
• Partner with engineers across Vertex AI, DeepMind, and Cloud Security to align initiatives.
