Job summary

Sentry in San Francisco is hiring to own AI-assisted coding within Platform Engineering, building AI coding agents to contribute to the codebase. Your work will span engineering teams, with Developer Infrastructure as your home base.

Your initial focus will be exposing internal workflows via APIs, integrating tools like Claude Code, and improving AI-generated PRs while automating maintenance tasks. You’ll collaborate with engineers to measure impact and drive delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with production ownership.
• Experience building developer tools, infrastructure, or automation.
• Hands-on AI coding tools and agents experience; ML knowledge not required.
• Strong software engineering and system design fundamentals.
• Track record leading cross-team technical initiatives from problem definition through adoption.
• Clear written and verbal communication to senior engineering leaders.

Responsibilities

• Set priorities for AI-assisted development at Sentry.
• Make internal systems accessible via APIs and integrations.
• Build context systems and agent execution tooling, including permissions and logging.
• Develop automated checks and feedback loops for AI-generated PRs.
• Automate recurring work such as security upgrades and routine maintenance.
• Improve developer workflows including issue triage and CI/CD for agents.
• Lead changes across engineering teams and measure impact on delivery.
