Job summary

Walmart seeks a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead complex, large-scale AI and technology programs across Retail Intelligence in Sunnyvale, CA. You will translate strategy into execution plans, align Engineering, Data Science, Product, and Business teams, and drive decisions on dependencies, risks, milestones and tradeoffs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area with 6 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
• 8 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
• Strong understanding of software systems, architecture, data platforms, and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of strategic, cross-functional technical programs from planning through delivery.
• Serve as the STO across initiatives, milestones, dependencies, risks, and commitments.
• Align Engineering, Data Science, Product, and Business teams around shared priorities and outcomes.
• Drive technical discussions, tradeoffs, and cross-functional decisions.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks to improve delivery predictability.
• Use data, metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting to communicate program health and outcomes.
• Build scalable operating mechanisms and ways of working.
• Leverage AI, automation, and analytics to improve productivity.
• Advance TPM best practices and raise the program management bar.
