Placements24 is seeking a Senior AI Data Scientist to join our AI & Emerging Technologies team in Welkom, Free State. You will develop predictive models, build data pipelines, and translate insights into business value while collaborating with domain experts and fellow data scientists.

You will lead modeling efforts, communicate findings clearly to stakeholders, and stay at the forefront of ML techniques and responsible AI practices in a growth-focused environment.

Formación

• Master's or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, CS, Math or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist with predictive modeling focus.
• Proficiency in Python or R and data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Expertise in statistical modeling, ML algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, time series).
• Experience with SQL and databases; strong data visualization skills (Matplotlib/Seaborn/Tableau).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Experience with big data (Spark/Hadoop) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong focus on predictive modeling.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, time series analysis).
• Experience with SQL and database management systems.
• Strong data visualization skills using tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Tableau.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous.
