Job summary

Graphcore is seeking a Principal Datacenter Technologist to shape the operating model for new AI data center platforms. You will drive end-to-end readiness, deployment, and sustainment of compute, networking, storage, and cooling systems at scale.

You will lead cross-functional teams, define workflows, and set diagnostic and telemetry standards to enable rapid, reliable deployment. The role emphasizes architectural alignment, operational governance, and strong communication with engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Extensive experience in data center infrastructure build and operations.
• Experience defining processes and readiness criteria for new-product introduction at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical operating model and NPI framework for new hardware and infra technologies.
• Define end-to-end workflows for install, config, validation, deployment, service, repair, and sustainment.
• Translate architecture requirements into data center readiness criteria across software, firmware, compute, networking, storage, memory, power and cooling.
• Create runbooks, interface definitions, ownership models, acceptance criteria, and escalation paths.
• Lead operational readiness reviews and identify gaps in tooling, diagnostics, telemetry, serviceability, spares, documentation and training.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex platform issues and guide root-cause analysis.
• Define telemetry and fleet-level signals to distinguish product issues from deployment problems.
