Job summary

Graphcore, a leader in AI computing systems, seeks a Principal Engineer, Power Engineering to shape power delivery architecture from grid to chip. Based in Austin or San Jose, you may work onsite or remotely within the US.

You will lead cross-functional teams across hardware, firmware, and datacenters to deliver reliable, scalable power solutions and drive continuous improvement in efficiency and resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a Power Engineering focus.
• Experience in power system and delivery architecture, design, development.
• Rack-level hardware design experience for servers/storage/networking.
• Proficiency in power hardware and firmware development and debugging.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for power delivery from grid to system across teams.
• Define power roadmap and align with vendor technology roadmaps.
• Design rack-level power shelves with hardware/firmware specs.
• Set datacenter power policies and monitor telemetry for policy algorithms.
• Ensure IT power robustness against grid disturbances.
• Develop and test prototypes for new power concepts.
• Guide testing and validation with vendors and ODMs.
• Resolve complex power hardware/firmware issues.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards.
