Job summary

Lovable is seeking a senior legal counsel to own strategic AI contracting, negotiating MSAs, DPAs, and enterprise terms with hyperscalers and frontier labs. You will partner with Product, Partnerships, Sales, Security, and Finance to structure deals that move quickly while managing risk and regulatory considerations.

You should have 8+ years of legal experience in AI-focused environments, with a track record of high-visibility negotiations on both sides.

Qualifications

• 8+ years legal experience, including in-house at an AI-native startup or scale-up where AI product/partnership contracting was core.
• Negotiated high-visibility deals on both buy and sell sides, with knowledge of common sticking points and solutions.
• Negotiated with hyperscalers and frontier labs on model access, usage commitments, pricing, data-use, and related terms.
• Counseled product and partnerships leaders on new AI initiatives, identifying contracting, IP, data, and licensing issues early.
• Drafted/negotiated MSAs, Enterprise T&Cs, DPAs, model/API and inference agreements, and third-party terms.
• Able to handle bespoke, complex deals and align cross-functionally with Product, Partnerships, Sales, Security, and Finance.
• Able to articulate issues with a business perspective and balance risk with market speed.
• Comfortable making high-stakes decisions with imperfect facts, seeking pragmatic, speedy paths.
• Bias for action and concise written guidance.
• Fluent in AI governance, model-training/data-use concerns, and AI regulatory landscape (EU AI Act, GDPR, DORA, Data Act, US developments).

Responsibilities

• Own strategic AI deals: lead negotiation of agreements with hyperscalers, frontier labs, and key technology partners.
• Partner with Product and Partnerships: be the go-to counsel for new product and partnership initiatives; surface issues early and close deals.
• Support GTM and Sales: independently negotiate MSAs, enterprise T&Cs, DPAs, and other tech agreements with customers.
• Raise leverage: use Lovable and AI tools to extend leverage, reduce cycle times, and increase deal velocity.
• Translate regulatory requirements into competitive terms: stay ahead of the EU AI Act, GDPR, Data Act, and US developments.
• Audit-ready hygiene: keep deals clean, documented, and consistent.
