Job summary

Robots & Pencils seeks a Principal Architect to lead the design and delivery of complex, multi-domain systems spanning cloud, data, and AI. This role is the senior technical voice on engagements, owning architecture direction and high-stakes decisions with leadership and clients.

You'll mentor engineers, define infrastructure as code and CI/CD standards, and drive performance, security, and governance across initiatives. This role emphasizes hands-on leadership and sharp technical judgment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with at least 5 years in technical leadership.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience designing AI/ML systems for production, including MLOps and model serving.

Responsibilities

• Define technical strategy and lead architectural design across cloud, data, and AI/ML systems for end-to-end engagements.
• Architect scalable cloud-native solutions and multi-cloud/hybrid strategies.
• Mentor engineers and act as the principal technical voice on engagements.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders across engineering and non-engineering teams.
