The Allen Institute is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to lead ML training/evaluation pipelines and data infrastructure across multiple biological modalities.

You will build a scalable model zoo and collaborate with AI scientists on training stacks, with opportunities to train and develop novel AI models aligned with our scientific goals. You will work onsite in Washington state, contributing to a collaborative, open-science culture that values diversity and inclusive teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience running/evaluating ML models and building data access APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and GitHub Actions.

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain ML training and evaluation pipelines for ML models across multiple biological modalities.
• Design data storage, versioning, and access infrastructure for large-scale, in-house data.
• Develop and maintain a model zoo of relevant models.
• Work with the director to make/build vs buy decisions on training and data technical stack.
• Develop processes to support a lab-in-the-loop training paradigm.
