Job summary

Accenture is hiring an experienced Architect to own the AI‑native architecture for engagements in the Chicago area. You will be the primary technical contact for the client’s architecture group, leading the engineering team and helping shape reusable patterns as the frontier in AI evolves.

Requirements include 5+ years building enterprise systems, 1–2 years with AI/LLM in production, and 3+ years leading teams in agile settings. Travel up to 100% may be required based on client needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience building enterprise systems, with at least 1–2 years working with AI/LLM systems in production or production‑like contexts.
• Minimum of 2 years designing AI‑native or AI‑adjacent architectures — event‑driven, distributed, or data‑intensive systems count.
• Minimum of 3 years leading an engineering team, including at least 1 year managing the unique challenges of AI development.
• Minimum of 1 year translating between AI capabilities and business value for executive audiences.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience working in agile engineering or consulting teams.
• AI‑adjacent experience counts toward the bars above: strong credentials in the neighboring discipline combined with 1–2 years of hands‑on LLM work is exactly the profile we grow.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate's Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience).

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture for a single engagement: design authority on the AI‑native foundation, primary technical contact for the client’s architecture group.
• Lead the engineering team that builds it and progress within Accenture to shape methodology and reference patterns.
• Travel may be required for this role; travel amount varies 0–100% depending on business needs and client requirements.
