Job summary

Surescripts is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to lead the design, delivery, and governance of enterprise AI initiatives. You will act as a technical partner to product, engineering, and business leaders, guiding architecture, feasibility, and responsible AI practices.

You will mentor teams, evaluate new AI technologies, and ensure scalable, secure AI systems across customer-facing products and internal operations. Flexible hybrid model and U.S. work eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of software/AI/ML engineering experience.
• 4+ years in a lead or senior engineering role.
• 3+ years hands-on machine learning / AI engineering experience.
• Experience architecting and delivering solutions across APIs, microservices, data engineering, and cloud-native apps.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical how and delivery timeline for AI initiatives, acting as AI solution architect and principal engineer.
• Architect scalable, interoperable, responsible AI solutions and guide deployment into production.
• Serve as trusted technical partner, providing solution architecture and weighing options on feasibility, effort and performance targets.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements and frame options for leadership decisions.
• Lead evaluation of new AI technologies and vendors and drive architecture decisions.
