Elevance Health seeks a Principal Applied Scientist to lead the design, deployment, and scaling of advanced AI/ML solutions that transform the enterprise. You will serve as a senior technical authority for AI strategy, architecture, governance, and production implementation.

The role requires reporting to Pulse Point locations and guiding cross-functional teams across data science, engineering, and business to deliver measurable business value.

Qualifications

• Requires MS or PhD in CS/ML/Statistics or related quantitative field and 10+ years of experience.
• Experience leading AI/ML initiatives from concept through production deployment.
• Experience with Python, ML frameworks, cloud-based AI/ML platforms, MLOps, model deployment, monitoring, lifecycle management, and data systems.

Responsibilities

• Defines and drives enterprise AI/ML strategy aligned with priorities.
• Leads design, validation, deployment, monitoring, and improvement of AI/ML solutions.
• Architects scalable end-to-end production systems (training, deployment, monitoring, lifecycle).
• Translates business challenges into scalable AI solutions with measurable outcomes.
• Establishes standards, reusable patterns, and best practices for AI development and governance.
• Partners with leaders to influence capability roadmaps and deliver value.
• Mentors data scientists, ML engineers, researchers, and tech leaders.
