Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an experienced AI/GenAI architect to lead domain-specific AI solutions, aligning with enterprise architecture and security standards.

You will design patterns, review implementations, and mentor domain teams while guiding LLMOps and responsible AI practices across projects. The role focuses on Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, and related technologies, with a hybrid schedule (Grand Rapids office Mon-Wed, remote Thu-Fri) and a path for advancing AI capabilities across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of IT experience with demonstrated technical knowledge.
• Advanced knowledge of software development best practices.
• Experience in retail or production/service environments preferred.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and multiple project management frameworks.
• Experience architecting AI/GenAI solutions on Azure stack is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and review implementation details for a domain within the company's AI solutions.
• Design and implement new design patterns in domain-specific code bases.
• Mentor domain engineering teams on principles and best practices.
• Provide engineering strategy for code modernization and standard patterns.
• Build proof of concepts that are production ready.
• Guide development teams within domain requirements.
• Lead non-functional requirements like security, reliability, performance, scalability, and usability.
• Define reference architectures for AI & Automation on Microsoft Azure stack, ensuring security and EA compliance.
• Guide LLMOps and responsible AI practices across domains and lead architectural reviews of AI/GenAI solutions.
