Job summary

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time Principal AI Architect at Hanscom AFB. You will lead enterprise AI/ML architectures, integrating cloud, data, security, and mission systems to support DoD operations with scalable, secure AI solutions.

The role requires senior technical leadership, DoD program experience, and a TS clearance with SAP screening. You will drive technical vision, roadmap, and architecture standards across AI-enabled capabilities.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen.
• Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility and SAP screening.
• 15+ years in software/systems engineering, cloud architecture, AI/ML, or related fields.
• 5+ years designing and implementing enterprise-scale AI/ML solutions.
• Demonstrated experience as a technical architect or senior technical leader for complex systems.
• Strong understanding of generative AI, LLMs, RAG, foundation models, and AI agents.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise and mission-level architectures for AI, ML, generative AI, and decision-support capabilities.
• Lead architecture decisions spanning AI models, data platforms, cloud, APIs, cybersecurity, and edge computing.
• Provide technical leadership across the complete AI lifecycle from experimentation to sustainment.
• Establish reusable architecture patterns for secure, scalable AI adoption across mission areas.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide recommendations to senior government and program leadership.
• Design enterprise-grade solutions using LLMs, foundation models, multimodal AI, and domain-specific models.
• Ensure AI systems are maintainable, auditable, and compliant with DoD requirements.
• Translate mission objectives into executable architectures and implementation roadmaps.
