Job summary

Daikin Applied Ltd. is seeking a Sr Agentic UX Designer to shape experiences where AI agents understand intent, decide, and act with humans. You will map end-to-end user journeys, prototype agent behaviors, and validate concepts with users while guiding human oversight and autonomy levels.

The role is based in Plymouth, MN with hybrid or remote options, and requires strong Figma/Sketch skills, user research, and information architecture expertise to deliver data-rich, user-centered interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in design of mobile, web and embedded user interfaces.
• Lead discovery activities and user testing.
• Experience with customer discovery techniques including interviews and journey mapping.
• Strong information architecture, design patterns and interaction design for data-heavy apps.

Daikin Applied is seeking a talented Sr Agentic UX Designer. The Sr Agentic UX Designer will design experiences in which AI agents can understand intent, make decisions, take actions, and collaborate with humans in understandable, trustworthy, controllable ways. You will translate complex human and agent capabilities into clear user journeys, conversational and adaptive interactions, prototypes, and interaction patterns while defining human-agent workflows, designing appropriate levels of autonomy and human oversight, prototyping agent behaviors, validating concepts with users, and dive into analytics to understand the impact these experiences are having on end users. Location: Plymouth, MN – Hybrid or Remote

What you will do:

• Operate within the Daikin Applied UX process, which includes discovery, ideation, visualization, and testing
• Advocate the needs of the user, fostering a shared understanding of the customer-centric intersection between design, content, business and brand
• Facilitate customer discovery sessions to uncover user needs, preferences, and pain points
• Design intuitive, low-friction solutions, validate them through iterative testing, and refine them based on user feedback, to ensure alignment with real-world expectations
• Work iteratively and collaboratively with a cross-disciplinary team (product managers, software engineers, designers, researchers), using lean and agile methodologies to explore, test, and implement designs
• Lead end users, development team and partners with impact, and guide decision-making through a customer-focused approach rather than a ‘technology first’ mindset
• Develop comprehensive user journey maps and task flows to visualize end-to-end user experiences and foster a better understanding of customer behavior
• Sketch out low-fidelity wireframes, build interactive prototypes, and leverage Daikin Applied’s design system to deliver high fidelity mockups
• Lead design reviews to validate them with the design team, product managers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders
• Optimize the effectiveness of new and existing features by proactively planning, performing, and advocating validation techniques like usability testing, user research, and interpreting analytic data

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in design of mobile, web and embedded user interfaces
• Lead discovery activities and user testing
• Significant experience with customer discovery techniques, including user interviews, usability testing, and journey mapping
• Strong grasp of information architecture, design patterns, and interaction design for data-heavy applications
• Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
• Expertise using Figma, Sketch, or the equivalent
• Advanced knowledge of design systems and how to apply them, while still creatively solving design problems
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, and other web technologies
• Strong written and verbal command of the English language
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in design of mobile, web and embedded user interfaces

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 - $153,300 (+ 10% bonus) in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre‑employment requirements, including verification of employment history, education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety-sensitive positions may require cannabis (marijuana) testing. All testing and employment decisions will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
