Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking an experienced LeadAgentic Software Engineer to build and ship features across client apps on iOS/iPadOS, Android, or Electron/Angular. This hands‑on role emphasizes production code and AI-assisted tooling to move quickly without sacrificing quality.

You will collaborate with Product Management and UX to turn defined features into shipped experiences, optimize performance, ensure security, and contribute to CI/CD across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional client/frontend software development experience, with deep, production‑level expertise in one of: iOS, Android, or Electron/Angular.
• Hands-on experience with graphics/rendering technologies relevant to your platform (Core Graphics/Metal, Canvas/Skia, WebGL).
• Experience developing backend APIs using modern stacks (e.g., .NET/ASP.NET Core, Node.js, Java Spring, Python FastAPI).
• At least a year of hands-on use of AI engineering tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) with practical AI/LLM integration experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in the language matching your primary platform (Swift, Kotlin, or TypeScript).
• Strong expertise in the native UI framework for your platform (SwiftUI/UIKit, Jetpack Compose, or Electron/Angular).
• Experience with architectural patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, MVI, or component-based).
• Experience consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Secure credential storage experience (Keychain, Android Keystore).
• Telemetry/observability tooling experience (Datadog, Firebase, platform logs).

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and ship production code on your primary platform.
• Use agentic tools for AI-assisted development while upholding quality, security, and oversight.
• Design and build features end-to-end from spec to shipped experience.
• Apply architectural patterns to keep code modular and testable.
• Collaborate with Product Management and UX to surface technical tradeoffs early.
• Build and maintain high-performance 2D graphics editing/ rendering capabilities.
• Optimize startup time, memory, rendering, and battery life; improve network efficiency.
• Implement security measures for encryption and secure credential handling.
• Write and maintain automated tests and CI/CD pipelines.
• Drive release health with telemetry and performance budgets.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge across the team.
• Evaluate emerging platform, AI, and tooling technologies for adoption.
