Job summary

Cricut is seeking an experienced Lead Agentic Software Engineer to develop features across iOS/iPadOS, Android, or Electron/Angular clients. This hands-on role emphasizes production code, agentic tooling, and collaboration with Product/UX to deliver shipped experiences.

You will own end-to-end feature delivery, optimize rendering performance, and contribute to CI/CD and telemetry initiatives while ensuring security and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional client/frontend development experience with expert-level skill in one major platform (iOS, Android, or Electron/Angular).
• Hands-on graphics/rendering knowledge for the platform (Core Graphics/Metal, Canvas/Skia, or CanvasKit/WebGL).
• Experience with AI engineering tools and integrating AI/LLM capabilities where relevant.
• Expert-level proficiency in Swift, Kotlin, or TypeScript, with strong native UI framework expertise.
• Experience consuming REST APIs and working with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of secure credential storage and telemetry/observability tools.

Job Description

• Use agentic coding tools as a core part of your daily workflow — AI-assisted code review, automated test generation, AI-augmented development — whilemaintainingcode quality, security, and human oversight.
• Design and build features end-to-end, from technical approach through implementation, testing, and release.
• Apply established architectural patterns to keep your code modular, maintainable, and testable.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management and UX to take defined features from spec to shipped experience, surfacing technical tradeoffs and feasibility early.
• Build andmaintainhigh-performance 2D graphics editing andrenderingcapabilities for creative, design-focused features.
• Optimize application performance — startup time, memory usage, responsiveness, rendering, battery life, and network efficiency.
• Ensure application security through encryption, secure authentication, certificate validation, and secure credential/key management.
• Write andmaintainautomated tests for your features.
• Drive CI/CD automation, release quality, and deployment processes for your platform (App Store, Google Play, or desktop distribution).
• Ship behind feature flags with progressive rollout and kill-switches,validatingnew behavior with production telemetry before ramping.
• Own release health through telemetry — tracking crash-free rates, performance budgets, and defect trends.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with other engineers on your platform.
• Evaluate emerging platform, AI, and tooling technologies, and recommend adoption wherethey'dmeaningfully improve your team's work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's orMaster's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, ora relatedfield.
• 8+ years of professional client/frontend software development experience, with deep, production-levelexpertisein one of: iOS, Android, or Electron/Angular.
• Hands-on experience with graphics/rendering technologies relevant to your platform — e.g., Core Graphics/Metal on iOS, Canvas/Skia/Vulkan on Android, or Canvas/WebGL/Skia(CanvasKit) on Electron/Angular.
• Atleast a year of hands-on, pragmatic use of modern AI engineering tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.), with practical experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities where relevant (agentic patterns, evals, latency/cost/reliability tradeoffs).
• Expert-levelproficiencyin the language matching your primary platform (Swift, Kotlin, or TypeScript).
• Strongexpertisein the native UI framework for your platform (SwiftUI/UIKit, Jetpack Compose, or Electron/Angular).
• Experience with architectural patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, MVI, or component-based architecture.
• Experience consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, UI/end-to-end) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of secure credential storage (Keychain, Android Keystore, or equivalent).
• Experience instrumenting applications with telemetry/observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Firebase, or platform-native logging).
