Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking an experienced engineer to design and deploy agentic AI systems at scale within our Traveler Discovery & Planning initiatives. You will integrate LLMs with tools, build orchestration frameworks, and define evaluation methodologies to ensure reliability and safety.

You will mentor junior ML engineers, collaborate with product teams, and help shape the future of AI-powered travel experiences across millions of travelers and partners.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related industry experience.
• Experience designing and deploying agentic or multi-step AI systems in production or research settings.
• Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks; experience with LLM APIs and orchestration libraries.
• Experience integrating LLMs with external tools, APIs, and structured data sources.
• Solid understanding of prompt engineering techniques including chain-of-thought.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evaluate multi-step agentic AI systems.
• Research and implement state-of-the-art techniques in agentic architectures.
• Develop and maintain agent orchestration frameworks.
• Integrate LLMs with external tools and APIs for real-world tasks.
• Define evaluation frameworks for agentic systems across benchmarks.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and research teams to translate requirements.
• Identify risks like prompt injection and unsafe tool use.
• Stay current with AI landscape and mentor junior teammates.
