Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking an experienced ML engineer to design and deploy multi-step agentic AI systems that integrate LLMs with tools and data sources for real-world travel tasks. You will work on pioneering agentic experiences across conversational AI and planning domains.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, and research teams to translate business requirements into robust agent architectures, mentor junior engineers, and stay current with advances in agentic AI and evaluation

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying agentic or multi-step AI systems in production or research settings.
• Experience with LLM APIs and orchestration libraries (LangChain/LlamaIndex).
• Strong understanding of prompt engineering techniques, including chain-of-thought.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evaluate multi-step agentic AI systems with autonomous agents.
• Research and implement state-of-the-art agentic architectures (ReAct, reflection loops).
• Develop and maintain agent orchestration frameworks for task decomposition and sub-agent delegation.
• Integrate LLMs with external tools, APIs, databases, and code execution environments.
• Define and own evaluation frameworks measuring reliability, latency, cost, and safety.
