Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a senior developer to drive Conversational AI initiatives in a remote-capable role open to qualified applicants in Minneapolis, MN. You will lead an onshore/offshore development team, contribute hands-on in design and architecture, and support QA and UAT activities to ensure delivery quality.

Required is deep expertise in AWS Bedrock, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and agent orchestration, with strong cloud and security practices for enterprise AI deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore and Strands.
• Hands-on development of voice and chat bots and AI agents.
• Strong knowledge of design, architecture and integration for production AI.
• Proficiency in prompt engineering, evaluation, grounding and safety controls.
• Experience with scalable, secure deployment of enterprise AI systems.

In this role, you will:

• Lead Dev team across onshore and Offshore
• Hands on Dev, Design and architecture based on the client requirement
• Support QA and UAT team

What you must have to be considered:

Conversational AI & Agentic AI Platforms (MUST)

• AWS Lex or Any Other Deterministic Bot
• AWS Bedrock and Bedrock AgentCore
• AWS Strands SDK / Framework
• Voice Bot and Chat Bot development
• Agentic AI application development and orchestration
• Intent modeling, conversation design, prompt engineering, and NLU concepts
• LLM application development, tool calling, function calling, and agent workflows

Cloud & Infrastructure (MUST) Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including:

• Amazon Bedrock
• Bedrock AgentCore
• AWS Lambda
• Amazon S3
• DynamoDB
• API Gateway
• IAM
• CloudWatch
• Knowledge of secure AI/LLM deployment patterns and cloud-native agent architectures – Will be a Plus

Generative AI & Agent Engineering (MUST)

• Hands-on experience building production-grade Generative AI applications using Amazon Bedrock.
• Experience developing and orchestrating AI agents using Bedrock AgentCore and AWS Strands.
• Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks, tool integrations, and multi-agent workflows.
• Experience implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures(Optional)
• Experience with prompt engineering, model evaluation, grounding, and agent performance tuning.
• Experience securing enterprise AI agents including guardrails, prompt injection mitigation, data protection, access controls, and responsible AI controls.
• Experience optimizing LLM agents for accuracy, latency, scalability, reliability, observability, and cost efficiency.
• Experience monitoring and troubleshooting production AI agents and conversational AI systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certifications such as AWS Certified AI Practitioner, AWS Certified AI Engineer, or equivalent.
• Experience with multi-agent systems and advanced agent orchestration patterns.
• Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, or similar development accelerators (One of the tools is a MUST).
• Experience with conversational analytics, agent evaluation frameworks, and bot performance optimization (MUST).
• Experience implementing Responsible AI, AI governance, compliance, and enterprise AI security controls.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 90,000– $ 100,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
