Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Agentic AI Engineer to drive development of agentic AI and conversational AI solutions. You will lead a distributed team, design architectures, and hands-on implement components across Bedrock, Lambda, S3 and APIs for secure production systems.

The role demands hands-on expertise in LLM orchestration, tool integrations, prompt engineering, and guardrails to ensure scalable, compliant AI agents.

Qualifications

  • Conversational AI platforms and agentic AI platforms are required.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock and Bedrock AgentCore.
  • Experience with LLM orchestration, tool integrations, and multi-agent workflows is essential.
  • Knowledge of secure AI deployment patterns and cloud-native agent architectures is a plus.
  • Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures optional.

Job description

Senior Agentic AI Engineer
Location: Remote in USA
Responsibilities:

Lead Dev team across onshore and Offshore

Hands on Dev, Design and architecture based on the client requirement

Support QA and UAT team

Qualifications:

Conversational AI & Agentic AI Platforms (MUST)

  • AWS Lex or Any Other Deterministic Bot
  • AWS Bedrock and Bedrock AgentCore
  • AWS Strands SDK / Framework
  • Voice Bot and Chat Bot development
  • Agentic AI application development and orchestration
  • Intent modeling, conversation design, prompt engineering, and NLU concepts
  • LLM application development, tool calling, function calling, and agent workflows

Cloud & Infrastructure (MUST) Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including:

  • Amazon Bedrock
  • Bedrock AgentCore
  • AWS Lambda
  • Amazon S3
  • DynamoDB
  • API Gateway
  • IAM
  • CloudWatch
  • Knowledge of secure AI/LLM deployment patterns and cloud-native agent architectures – Will be a Plus

Generative AI & Agent Engineering (MUST)

  • Hands-on experience building production-grade Generative AI applications using Amazon Bedrock.
  • Experience developing and orchestrating AI agents using Bedrock AgentCore and AWS Strands.
  • Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks, tool integrations, and multi-agent workflows.
  • Experience implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures(Optional)
  • Experience with prompt engineering, model evaluation, grounding, and agent performance tuning.
  • Experience securing enterprise AI agents including guardrails, prompt injection mitigation, data protection, access controls, and responsible AI controls.
  • Experience optimizing LLM agents for accuracy, latency, scalability, reliability, observability, and cost efficiency.
  • Experience monitoring and troubleshooting production AI agents and conversational AI systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certifications such as AWS Certified AI Practitioner, AWS Certified AI Engineer, or equivalent.
  • Experience with multi-agent systems and advanced agent orchestration patterns.
  • Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, or similar development accelerators (One of the tools is a MUST).
  • Experience with conversational analytics, agent evaluation frameworks, and bot performance optimization (MUST).
  • Experience implementing Responsible AI, AI governance, compliance, and enterprise AI security controls.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 100,000– $ 130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
