Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. seeks an ambitious engineer (MTS) to design autonomous AI Agents for manufacturing workflows, orchestrate LLM interactions, and optimize tool use and data pipelines.

You will build scalable agent architectures, implement MPC/MCP-like protocols, and deploy to Kubernetes with CI/CD in cloud environments. You will mentor engineers, profile complex workloads, and work with data scientists and engineers to push AI capabilities from research to production within Micron’s

Qualifications

• Technical Degree required (Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field). Ph.D. is a plus.
• Experience optimizing inference engines (vLLM, TensorRT-LLM) for autonomous AI Agent and LLM workloads.
• Proficiency with Large Language Models (LLMs), including prompt engineering, function calling/tool use, and CoT reasoning.
• Experience designing and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, including document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, and vector search.
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience in data/ML pipelines or production Agentic AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop autonomous AI Agents capable of multi-step reasoning and tool execution for complex manufacturing workflows.
• Implement Agentic frameworks to orchestrate LLM interactions with internal APIs and databases.
• Build and maintain agent evaluation harnesses to benchmark accuracy and reliability across multi-step workflows.
• Profile agent/inference workloads to identify bottlenecks in compute and latency with observability tools.
• Create/maintain CI/CD pipelines for deploying AI Agents to Kubernetes and containerized cloud environments.
• Mentor engineers on agentic design paradigms and optimization techniques.
