Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Middletown, CT seeks an engineer to analyze and design fan and compressor air systems using 1D flow modeling and CFD, ensuring performance and safety.

You'll generate thermal boundary conditions, support engine validation, and mentor teams while traveling up to 10%.

This onsite role requires a BS in Engineering and 5+ years turbomachinery experience, with U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree and 5+ years turbomachinery analysis and design.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design fan/compressor air systems using 1D flow modeling and CFD.
• Generate CFD-based thermal boundary conditions and heat transfer models.
• Specify engine validation test plans and compare models to engine data.
• Optimize air system architecture to meet safety and life requirements.
• Work independently on complex challenges and develop module solutions.
• Prioritize multiple projects with time and budget constraints.
• Lead teams across disciplines for module design.
• Travel up to 10%.
