Job summary

Shield AI seeks a Staff Systems Integration Engineer to lead the integration of major aircraft systems across the full product lifecycle. You will set installation architectures, guide multidisciplinary teams, and drive design for manufacturability and reliability.

You will mentor engineers, define standards for installation design, routing, and configuration management, and coordinate with Systems Owners, Structures, and Supply Chain to deliver integrated aircraft programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience developing and integrating aircraft or complex aerospace systems.
• Advanced CAD and PLM experience with CATIA, NX, Creo, Teamcenter, Windchill, 3DEXPERIENCE or equivalent.
• Experience leading integration on aircraft, autonomous aircraft, defense, eVTOL, or advanced aerospace programs.
• Strong engineering judgment and ability to mentor engineers across programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for integration of major aircraft systems across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Establish subsystem installation architecture and interface strategies for mechanical, electrical, avionics, and fluid systems.
• Lead multidisciplinary packaging studies balancing aircraft performance, manufacturability, maintainability, reliability, and serviceability.
• Develop installation design standards, routing practices, CAD modeling, drawing quality, and configuration management.
• Lead complex investigations involving aircraft integration, manufacturing, supplier issues, or field problems.
• Review and approve installation drawings, BOM structures, engineering changes, and configuration baselines.
• Guide prototype builds, manufacturing readiness, and production integration activities.
• Lead technical coordination with Systems Owners, Structures, Stress, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
• Mentor engineers across programs and drive technical consistency.
