Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Westminster, Colorado. You will develop verification and validation plans aligned with program objectives, establish approaches and criteria, and define verification environments across hardware, software, firmware, and test assets.

You will create and maintain requirements traceability, collaborate with Integration & Test teams, mentor engineers, and drive process improvements while balancing cost, schedule, and technical objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of systems engineering experience in aerospace/defense or complex programs.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering methodologies and product development lifecycles.
• Experience authoring, managing, and validating system requirements.
• Knowledge of requirements traceability, interface management, system integration, and configuration management.
• Experience supporting verification, validation, and compliance activities throughout the lifecycle.
• Ability to translate customer needs into actionable engineering requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop verification and validation plans aligned with program objectives, requirements, and customer expectations.
• Establish verification approaches, success criteria, and compliance methods.
• Define and maintain verification environments for hardware, software, firmware, and test assets.
• Create and manage requirements traceability artifacts, verification matrices, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with Integration & Test to coordinate system integration, verification, and issue resolution.
• Support program execution with technical planning, resource estimation, scheduling, and coordination.
• Balance engineering priorities to meet cost, schedule, and program commitments.
• Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, milestone reviews and customer discussions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers on systems engineering processes and documentation standards.
• Champion process improvements that enhance engineering quality, consistency, efficiency, and rigor.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across systems, software, hardware, and test organizations.
• Perform additional systems engineering duties as required.
