Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, a Boeing subsidiary, seeks an experienced technical professional to advance manufacturing analytics and test methods. The role focuses on IC/ICP instrumentation, laboratory excellence, and collaboration with M&PE and production teams.

The ideal candidate holds a chemistry/engineering degree, 5+ years in aerospace, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance. This union-represented, on-site position offers a comprehensive pay range and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar; ABET accredited program for engineering degrees.
• 5+ years of experience in relevant aerospace industry.
• Conversant with analytical instrumentation including IC and ICP.
• Develop test plans & testing methodology to support program needs, RCCAs, coordinate testing, and author test reports.
• Ability to independently interpret laboratory data and present findings clearly.
• Ability to interpret & define requirements to meet customer specifications and manufacturability.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Create and develop innovative solutions to manufacturing issues that reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Maintain and increase knowledge of analytical instruments and methods; schedule preventative maintenance for high uptime.
• Develop, update and maintain test methods; train technicians and ensure compliance.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure lab complies with standards.
• Serve as resource for M&PE staff and production operations.
• Lead audit preparations.
• Work under general supervision for routine tasks and independently for special assignments.
