Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. in Kansas is seeking a senior chemical lab analyst to perform complex analyses on production samples, validate processing and finishing, and operate advanced lab instruments such as ICP-OES and IC.

Qualifications

6+ years of relevant chemical lab experience or 2 years with BA/BS in chemistry or related field.
Experience with wet chemistry methods, ICP, and IC.
Evening/weekend work may be required.
Ability to manage time, communicate well, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Conducts basic and complex chemical analyses of production samples using approved analytical methods.
Applies chemical science knowledge to tests on materials to validate processing and finishing.
Sets up and operates laboratory equipment and instrumentation including titration, ICP-OES, and IC.
Researches and analyzes material, test, and process specification requirements.
Manages and maintains a test schedule to ensure process compliance.
Monitors laboratory results and documents out-of-spec conditions clearly.
Supports corrective actions to reduce nonconformance to specs.
Performs routine housekeeping and safety activities in the lab.
