Job summary

Archer is seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer to lead product quality throughout the lifecycle of aircraft systems. You will oversee design validation, manufacturing processes, inspection planning, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe, reliable aircraft delivery.

Interfaces with design and manufacturing to drive CAPA, PFMEA, and SPC initiatives, while developing metrics to monitor quality performance and support FAA conformity inspections.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) with 4+ years of experience.
• Experience creating and approving first article inspections with working knowledge of inspection tools.
• Experience with MES systems and creating inspection plans electronically.
• Experience with APQP—Control Plans, PPAPs, DFM, MSAs, PFMEAs, DFMEAs, and SPC.
• Experience in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with GD&T ASME Y14.5.
• Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, AS9103, AS9145 and AS6500.

Responsibilities

• Ensure powertrain and components meet design, quality, safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing to ensure smooth transition from design to production; provide guidance on quality issues.
• Support Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques like PFMEAs, Control Plans, and SPC.
• Lead the establishment of inspection plans.
• Conduct or support First Article Inspection per SAE AS9102.
• Facilitate and support Material Review Board dispositions.
• Identify and drive CAPAs for powertrain manufacturing processes.
• Develop reports on quality performance and corrective actions.
• Create metrics and KPIs to monitor health of manufacturing systems and drive improvement.
• Identify risks and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to mitigate them.
• Assist training on quality standards and tools for team members.
• Support FAA and company conformity inspection and certification processes.
