Job summary

Ignite Human Capital seeks a Senior Production Planner / Senior Production Planning Engineer in Downey/Santa Fe Springs, CA. The role owns the production schedule for an AS9100-certified CNC shop, maximizing spindle utilization and ensuring aerospace quality and traceability.

You will drive labor estimates, model capacity, and improve throughput while coordinating with cross-functional teams. Requires strong Excel and Epicor ERP skills and US citizenship per ITAR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is required.
• 7+ years of aerospace manufacturing engineering experience.
• U.S. citizenship or equivalent is required for ITAR facility.
• Experience with ERP/MRP and planning modules is required.
• Strong skills in analyzing data to improve scheduling and throughput.

Responsibilities

• Own the production schedule and optimize throughput.
• Analyze operations to maximize efficiency and reduce cycle times.
• Develop labor-hour estimates from time studies and data.
• Balance lines, establish material flow, and optimize utilization.
• Plan headcount and shifts in relation to demand.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve on-time starts/finishes.
• Lead continuous improvement and problem-solving activities.
• Track metrics on utilization, lead times, and bottlenecks.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
