Acron Aviation, a leader in avionics manufacturing, seeks a Procurement Specialist to plan and procure direct materials for aerospace production. You will drive end-to-end purchasing, manage supplier performance, and optimize inventories in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Located in Grand Rapids, MI, this on-site role emphasizes Lean principles, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver cost-effective, on-time material flow for new programs and ongoing production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years of purchasing experience in aerospace or another complex, regulated manufacturing environment.
• Expert-level SAP experience (MM required; PP and MRP experience strongly preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of MRP, BOM structures, material master data, and procurement workflows.
• Proven experience managing direct material suppliers across metals, composites, electronics, machined parts, and assemblies.
• Demonstrated cost reduction, negotiation, and contract management skills.
• Strong analytical skills with Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivots), Power BI, and similar tools.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Material Planning & Procurement Execution based on MRP signals; manage SAP data and vendor records.
• Supplier Relationship & Performance Management; drive on-time delivery and regular reviews.
• Cost Management & Financial Performance; identify cost reduction initiatives and monitor PPV.
• Inventory Optimization; balance availability and efficiency, refine safety stock and lead times.
• Data Analytics & Reporting; use SAP, Excel, Power BI to generate dashboards and insights.
• Cross Functional Support; collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and PM to meet material needs.
• Continuous Improvement of Planning System; lead kaizen events to improve lead time and plan reliability.
