Job summary

Ursa Major in Boulder, CO is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to develop and run preventive and predictive maintenance for Solid Rocket Motor manufacturing equipment, balancing hands‑on work with planning and asset management.

You will collaborate with Production, Planning, Quality, EHS, and Supply Chain to align maintenance with build schedules, drive uptime, safety, and on‑time program execution in an aerospace production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing engineering, or reliability engineering preferred; aerospace or defense manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Experience with Solid Rocket Motor, energetics, or other hazardous materials environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for critical manufacturing equipment.
• Prepare maintenance reports and maintain detailed records for audits and inspections.
• Perform routine PM tasks on equipment (mechanical, basic electrical, system checks).
• Coordinate advanced PM activities with OEMs and third‑party providers.
• Create and maintain equipment‑specific maintenance SOPs and work instructions.
• Identify and execute PMs across Solid Rocket operations, including safety inspections.
