Honeywell Aerospace in Torrance, CA, is seeking an experienced engineer to advance its materials testing capabilities. You will lead lab testing, develop procedures, ensure safety, and uphold quality across disciplines while coordinating with multiple teams.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in engineering test labs, experience with metallography, lab instrumentation, and LIMS, and strong documentation and teamwork skills to drive continuous improvement and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 7+ years of direct hands-on experience in an engineering test laboratory.
• Ability to develop laboratory procedures, processes, and training materials for technical staff.
• Demonstrated ability to train other technicians.
• Strong time management and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate work requests, develop test strategies, execute testing to meet customer requirements, and ensure laboratory regulatory and quality compliance.
• Serve as a focal point for LIMS services and perform laboratory testing across several disciplines, primarily metallography.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues; perform advanced troubleshooting and maintenance on laboratory instruments.
• Partner with lab engineers to develop and implement new test methods, fixturing, and procedures; act as process owner for assigned methods and maintain documentation.
• Build strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of standard and non-standard work.
• Maintain laboratory 5S in assigned areas, including consumable inventory, and uphold OSHA safety practices.
