Job summary

Jobtailor in Florida is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to support aerospace applications. You will develop, implement, and test software for aerospace products, ensure alignment with requirements and timelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define specifications and improve system performance.

The role requires 5+ years of embedded development, strong C/C++ and Python skills, and RTOS experience (VxWorks, Linux, Integrity, Deos).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience (full life cycle).
• Proficient with C, C++ and Python programming languages.
• Experience with Embedded RTOS such as VxWorks®, Linux, Integrity®, Deos™.
• Aerospace embedded software development experience.
• Awareness about DO-178 B/C.
• Experience with JIRA, Bitbucket, DOORS, and Microsoft Visual Studio.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sophisticated software solutions for aerospace technologies.
• Design, develop, and test software solutions that enhance aerospace products and services.
• Ensure alignment with project requirements and timelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software specifications and improve system performance.
• Execute project subtasks to meet customer specifications.
• Conduct technical interchange of task-level information, including system requirements and specifications, with team members and internal customers.
• Contribute to software documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and project reports.
• Code in multiple languages, including object-oriented languages such as C++.
• Report directly to the Engineering Manager.
• Travel up to 10% may be expected.
