Job summary

Spectra Defense in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a highly experienced Senior Repair & Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and refurbish complex electronic systems used in aerospace and defense applications. You will troubleshoot at the component level and ensure reliability of fielded systems through expert testing and documentation.

The role requires strong hands-on repair skills, familiarity with IPC/MIL-STD standards, and the ability to work with Engineering and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent military/technical training.
• 5+ years of experience in electronic repair and service, preferably in aerospace/defense/high-reliability environments.
• IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or similar certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies and systems to the component level using schematics, test procedures, and diagnostic tools.
• Perform functional and environmental testing to verify repairs and ensure compliance with original specifications.
• Document repair actions, test results, and root cause findings in accordance with quality and traceability requirements.
• Interface with Engineering, Quality, and Customer Support teams to resolve recurring issues and improve product reliability.
• Maintain and calibrate test equipment and service tools.
• Support field returns (RMAs), warranty evaluations, and customer service inquiries.
• Assist in training junior technicians and developing repair procedures and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with ESD handling, safety protocols, and cleanroom standards as applicable.
