Job summary

Spectra Defense Technologies Alpharetta is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design ruggedized electronics, displays, and computing systems for defense/aerospace applications. You will drive hardware development from requirements to validation, ensuring performance, reliability, and environmental ruggedness. Candidates typically have 3–7 years of hands-on hardware design experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–7 years of hardware design experience in rugged/defense or aerospace environments.
• Familiarity with military or high-reliability electronic systems is desirable.
• U.S. citizenship or lawful immigration status; ability to obtain security clearance.
• Proficiency with CAD and design tools such as Altium Designer, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Use Altium Designer or equivalents for schematic capture, PCB layout collaboration, and validation to meet ruggedization requirements.
• Select and integrate COTS components to optimize analog/digital performance and ruggedized PCB designs.
• Apply GIDEP to report part failures, obsolescence issues, and counterfeit risks.
• Apply Design for Manufacturability/Assembly/Testability throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet performance, reliability, and compliance for defense/aerospace.
