Job summary

West Coast Solutions is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead architecture, design, and development of advanced aerospace electronic systems. You will mentor peers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across programs, guiding decisions and engineering standards.

Required: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 15+ years in complex analog/digital/power electronics; strong leadership, system-level thinking, and customer-facing communication. On-site in Huntington Beach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• Extensive experience designing complex analog, digital, mixed-signal, and/or power electronic systems.
• Proven experience developing hardware from requirements definition through qualification and production.
• Strong understanding of system-level electrical architecture and technical trade studies.
• Experience leading complex technical development efforts and architecture decisions.
• Experience with circuit analysis, simulation, debugging, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB development, and hardware integration.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and mentorship experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with multidisciplinary teams and customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of advanced electronic systems and subsystems
• Design and develop analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic hardware
• Perform complex circuit analysis, simulation, and technical trade studies
• Lead design reviews and critical engineering decisions
• Support hardware integration, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations
• Collaborate with systems, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers across multiple programs
• Mentor and support the technical development of engineering team members
• Support customer engagements and technical discussions when required
• Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and future technology development
