Job summary

EXTEX Engineered Products in Gilbert, Arizona is seeking a Sr Design Engineer to lead aerospace components and systems for aircraft gas turbine engines and helicopter assemblies. You will design with SolidWorks, generate PMA documentation, and coordinate with manufacturing and quality teams.

The role requires 10+ years in engineering, 5+ years in aerospace, and a strong background in AS, Mil, ASTM standards, plus experience with FAA substantiation and working with vendors.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent technical experience.
• Minimum 10 years related engineering experience; 5+ years in Aerospace/Aviation.
• Proven ability to design and engineer aircraft components/systems.
• Strong knowledge of engineering specs (AS, ASME, Mil, ASTM).
• Experience with FAA regulations and working with outside vendors.

Responsibilities

• Create PMA concepts and develop aerospace components, assemblies, and products.
• Create drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks for new development and reverse engineering.
• Prepare design substantiation packages and FAA reports.
• Lead multiple PMA projects through design, procurement, testing, and certification.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality teams and vendors to deliver project deliverables.
