Job summary

AeroVironment in Arlington, VA seeks a Contracts Manager to lead contract processes for complex aerospace programs. You will partner with legal, finance, procurement and engineering to streamline workflows and mitigate risk across the contract lifecycle.

The role focuses on bid, capture and negotiation, managing various contract types, ensuring compliance with FAR/DFAR and government requirements, and coordinating with DCMA and auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is required.
• Minimum 6–8 years' aerospace/defense/government contracting experience.
• U.S. Security Clearance (Secret min; Top Secret preferred) required/desired.
• Federal and International regulations and related legal concepts knowledge.
• Experience with DoD/Federal prime contract administration/management.
• Ability to work autonomously, assess risks, and escalate issues as needed.
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate business and technical risk.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations, Contracts, Sales, Strategy, Finance and Legal on bid, negotiation, review and admin for products and services.
• Manage contract lifecycle tasks: proposals, awards, modifications, close-outs and program support for multi-year contracts.
• Draft, evaluate, negotiate Non-Disclosure, Sales/Purchase, Subcontracts, License and Master Agreements, including FAR/DFAR based contracts.
• Ensure agreements comply with regulations and company policies.
• Monitor performance, summarize obligations and risks for stakeholders; report on contract status.
• Coordinate flow-downs with program management, engineering, QA, supply chain and manufacturing.
• Liaise with DCMA and other audits; may lead internal and external audits.
• Maintain accurate contract files, data in business systems, and prepare status reports.
