Job summary

LiquidPiston in Suffield, CT is seeking a Senior Aerospace Engineer / Aircraft CAD Integrator to own the top-level CAD model and drive cross-disciplinary integration for VTOL and UAS platforms.

You will work across structures, propulsion, avionics, electrical systems, and controls to ensure a buildable, high-performance aircraft, from concept through test iterations in a fast-moving R&D setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of applied engineering experience in aerospace or defense.
• Experience owning a top-level CAD assembly for a complete aircraft or major system.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or CATIA and large assembly management.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own, maintain, and improve the top-level aircraft CAD model.
• Integrate subsystems into a cohesive vehicle configuration.
• Coordinate CAD models with engineers, vendors, and partners.
• Resolve geometry and integration issues before builds.
• Support prototyping, testing, and flight-test iterations.
• Perform design reviews and maintain current models and drawings.
• Manage configuration control and released documentation.
