Job summary

Ontic is seeking a Buyer III at Creedmoor, NC to manage end-to-end procurement of mechanical, electronic, and electro‑mechanical components while ensuring quality, delivery, and compliance. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in a regulated industry, with aerospace experience preferred.

Strong negotiation skills, ERP/MRP proficiency, and advanced Excel abilities are essential. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Planning, Quality, and Engineering to optimize

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 7 years in a highly regulated industry
• Experience in aerospace environment preferred
• Government/DoD subcontract or program experience, including familiarity with FAR/DFAR
• Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, operations, planning, logistics, quality, and contractual terms

Responsibilities

• Quote and procure mechanical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components and subassemblies
• Interpret MRP requirements to determine delivery schedules and manage inventory
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts to capture requirements
• Review and manage purchase orders and subcontract agreements
• Monitor supplier performance to meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives
• Develop and execute supplier negotiation strategies to meet cost and lead-time goals
• Expedite materials and projects to drive results in the supply chain
• Build strong supplier relationships across Operations, Planning, Quality, Engineering
