Job summary

Lead Aeronautical Information Specialist with the FAA is responsible for planning, directing and evaluating NAS-related projects, serving as a principal technical advisor, and coordinating with external organizations to advance national airspace initiatives.

Incumbent resolves sensitive issues independently and presents technical guidance to teams, managers, and stakeholders, while ensuring policy alignment and timely project delivery within the Department of Transportation.

Responsibilities

• Serves as technical specialist with full responsibility for planning, sequencing, directing, and evaluating assigned NAS projects.
• Acts as principal technical specialist or project manager or team leader for large work activities.
• Advises the OSG Team Manager for activities of large projects and ensures technical direction across teams.
• Develops and implements solutions to complex problems, integrating new technologies and methodologies.
• Coordinates across functional lines and external organizations to ensure timely review and compliance.
