Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, physical or biological sciences, engineering, or a related Environmental, Health and Safety field.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in relevant environmental applications.
  • Ability to comprehend diverse regulatory, scientific and technical issues.
  • Ability to connect with employees, management, regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, and those served.
  • Ability to coordinate and write clear documents for various audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate environmental consulting professionals or service providers.
  • Ability to meet critical project and program deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work outside typical business hours or extra hours when needed.

Job description


  • Oversee environmental reviews, surveys, and permitting for maintenance and capital projects

  • Establish regulatory compliance systems and develop or recommend procedures

  • Provide mentorship and relevant written resources or support materials

  • Support, advise, and assist Engineering, Construction Services, Business Development, Law, and other teams throughout project development and execution

  • Develop and coordinate environmental awareness, training, and outreach efforts, materials, and resources

  • Participate in agency outreach, public meetings, and open houses

  • Develop post-project monitoring and follow-up approaches, plans, and procedures

  • Support successful completion of major projects and smooth transition to operations

  • Serve projects and initiatives across all U.S. locations

  • Act as the contact for certain specific environmental issues or expertise areas

  • Travel to project sites or other company offices up to 25% of the time

  • Work with office and field staff, supervisors, managers, agency personnel, landowners, and the public


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, physical or biological sciences, engineering, or a related Environmental, Health and Safety and Emergency Response field

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in relevant environmental applications

  • Candidates without a University degree require an additional 3 years of related experience, for a total of 9 years

  • Ability to comprehend diverse regulatory, scientific and technical issues

  • Ability to connect with employees, management, regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, and those served

  • Ability to coordinate and write clear documents and correspondence for various audiences

  • Ability to work independently and coordinate and prioritize activities involving environmental consulting professionals or service providers

  • Ability to work with environmental waste specialists or providers

  • Ability to meet critical project and program deadlines

  • Flexibility to work outside typical business hours or extra hours when needed

  • Ability to satisfy physical requirements including light to moderate lifting up to 20 pounds, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual and hearing requirements

  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and written instructions

  • Ability to understand complex problems and collaborate on alternative solutions

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules

  • Ability to compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports

  • Final candidates may be required to undergo security screening, including a criminal records check


Demonstrates expertise in environmental reviews, regulatory compliance, and project management, with a strong ability to mentor and communicate effectively across diverse teams. Proficient in developing training materials and outreach efforts while ensuring adherence to environmental standards and regulations.
