Job summary

ACLU seeks a Senior Advisor, Affiliate Legal Programs to help affiliate Legal Directors build and sustain high-quality civil liberties programs across the national network.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Program and Strategy, you will advise affiliate leaders on legal strategy, docket development, litigation management, and cooperation with external legal resources, while advancing equity and inclusion in all efforts.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in nonprofit civil liberties legal practice and management.
• Experience advising affiliate leadership and building effective legal programs.
• Ability to assess affiliate needs and drive strategic improvements.
• Experience with litigation as part of an integrated advocacy strategy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior resource to affiliate Legal Directors and staff.
• Help develop and implement legal strategy and docket prioritization.
• Coordinate with advocacy, communications, and organizing teams.
• Scale best practices across the affiliate network.
