Job summary

Honeywell Forge & AI is seeking a Senior Advanced User Experience Designer to shape the next generation of Physical AI experiences, connecting people, AI, data, and the physical world. You will lead UX initiatives from research to detailed design, collaborating with global Product, Engineering, AI and business teams to turn complex capabilities into simple, scalable experiences.

Job description

As a Senior Advanced User Experience Designer at Honeywell Forge & AI, you will help shape the next generation of Physical AI experiences that connect people, AI, data, and the physical world.

You will design experiences that help customers understand complex information, interact with AI-powered agents, make better decisions, and operate buildings and industrial environments more efficiently.

We are looking for a curious, independent, and hands-on designer who can move from understanding customer problems and conducting research through concepts, prototypes, validation, and detailed design. You will work closely with global Product, Engineering, AI, and business teams to turn complex technical capabilities and customer needs into simple, intuitive, and scalable experiences.

You will report directly to our Sr. Director of Engineering, and you’ll work out of our Atlanta, GA location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Hybrid Work Schedule Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Independently lead UX initiatives from discovery and customer research through concept, prototyping, validation and detailed design.
• Engage directly with customers, including visiting customer sites, conducting interviews, contextual research and usability testing to understand real-world workflows and needs.
• Synthesize customer research, data and business insights into clear opportunities and actionable design solutions.
• Explore new ways for users to interact with AI-powered agents, conversational/chat experiences, recommendations, simulations and data visualizations.
• Create and evolve reusable components, patterns and design systems that enable consistency and scalability across products and experiences.
• Conduct accessibility reviews and incorporate inclusive design practices throughout the design process, with knowledge of standards and guidance such as WCAG 2.2 and Section 508.
• Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, AI and business stakeholders to connect customer needs, business objectives and technology capabilities.
• Collaborate effectively with global and cross-cultural teams and communicate design rationale clearly to technical and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

• 7+ years of UX/Product Design experience, delivering 15+ complex digital products and workflows across web and mobile platforms, serving 10K+ users and driving measurable business outcomes.
• Built and shipped 20+ end-to-end product experiences, from discovery and ideation through launch, resulting in improvements such as increased user adoption, reduced task completion time, and higher customer satisfaction scores.
• Independently led 10+ design initiatives from research through delivery, managing timelines, stakeholder alignment, and implementation while meeting 100% of critical project milestones.
• Conducted 50+ customer interviews, usability studies, and user research sessions, translating insights into design recommendations that improved usability metrics by 20-40%.
• Developed and maintained design systems containing 100+ reusable components and interaction patterns, improving design consistency and reducing design-to-development effort by 30%.
• Applied WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards across products, contributing to compliance goals and improving accessibility scores for multiple customer-facing applications.
• Created 200+ wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma and modern prototyping tools, supporting rapid iteration and stakeholder validation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Partnered with cross-functional teams of Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Business Stakeholders across 15+ projects, ensuring alignment from concept through release.
• Presented and defended design strategies to executive stakeholders, influencing product decisions and securing buy-in for multiple high-priority initiatives with measurable business impact.
• Participated in 25+ customer-facing engagements and on-site research visits, gathering direct user feedback that informed product enhancements and validated design solutions prior to release.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a similar field required; Master’s degree in Design, MFA, or a similar advanced degree preferred.

WE VALUE

• Experience designing AI-powered products, conversational interfaces, chatbots, copilots or agent-based experiences.
• Experience designing data visualization, analytics, dashboards, decision-support tools or other complex data-driven experiences.
• Experience with Physical AI, industrial software, building automation, IoT, connected products or enterprise software.
• Experience creating, contributing to or governing enterprise-scale design systems and component libraries.
• Experience conducting formal accessibility reviews and familiarity with WCAG 2.2, Section 508 and accessible interaction patterns.
• Ability to understand complex technologies and connect customer needs, business goals and technical capabilities.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, explore multiple possibilities and bring clarity to emerging product ideas.
• Experience using AI-assisted design and development tools to rapidly explore, prototype and validate new experiences.
• Curiosity about how people will interact with AI beyond traditional screens and workflows, and enthusiasm for exploring new interaction models for intelligent and autonomous systems.
• Passion for using design and emerging technology to make complex information simpler, more actionable and more human-centered.
