Description

If you are an engineering professional looking to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! As an Advanced Manufacturing Project Engineer, you will develop manufacturing processes for new global products. Based in Sidney, OH, you will be part of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team, focusing on creating new manufacturing processes and equipment to support our HVAC compressor platforms. You will collaborate closely with product planning, design engineering, procurement, and operations to coordinate design features that enable low cost, high quality, and reliable manufacturing of new global products.

Responsibilities

1. Drive the development of manufacturing processes through data-driven decisions for future product design and manufacturing.
2. Apply CNC machining and programming regularly.
3. Develop and implement process and equipment installations, including design, justification, and procurement.
4. Develop build, quality, and manufacturing specifications.
5. Collaborate with product development to ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are met.
6. Work with design engineering to incorporate features for low-cost, high-quality products.
7. Address manufacturing challenges across multiple product lines.
8. Progress Manufacturing Technology Readiness Levels (MRLs) and meet product Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs).
9. Ensure safety compliance of all production technologies, equipment, and processes.
10. Apply lean principles for continuous improvement aligned with manufacturing and automation strategies.
11. Serve as a technical expert for manufacturing processes.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related manufacturing technical field.
2. CNC machine programming experience.
3. 2-5 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.
4. Strong organizational, project management, and collaboration skills.
5. Experience with equipment and process layouts.
6. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
7. Experience with 3D CAD software (NX, SolidWorks, Inventor).
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
9. Ability to travel 10-15%, including international travel.
10. Legal authorization to work in the US; sponsorship not provided.
