Job description

Join our Simultaneous Development Team (SDT) as a Manufacturing Engineering Lead, providing expertise in feasibility, tooling, process design, and continuous improvement to bring new products to market efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities
  • Provide manufacturing feasibility assessments for product design, engineering changes, scope changes and quality concerns.
  • Develop process flow and plant layout requirements.
  • Review product gaging and packaging strategies and assess the impact of those assumptions on the overall manufacturing strategy.
  • Define capital equipment and tooling required and maintain adherence to the budget of the program.
  • Project manage the procurement and acceptance of required equipment & tooling.
  • Facilitate the implementation of production equipment/tools into the manufacturing facility and any corresponding technical training.
  • Complete Process FMEA and manage RPN risks.
  • Assess the product, process, equipment and tooling strategies for potential ergonomic concerns and manage action items to resolve.
  • Support customer part needs through pilot, testing, run‑at‑rate and internal process sign offs.
  • Create and support continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, Plastics or Engineering Technology (BSME/BSMET/Comparable).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in manufacturing engineering, advanced manufacturing, process engineering, tooling, or related fields.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience (Tier One automotive interiors preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and interact at all levels.
  • Mechanical aptitude and analytical problem‑solving.
  • Proficiency in workflow analysis, line balance, and takt time.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, PLC programming, and automation.
  • Leadership of DOE and data‑driven studies.
  • Six Sigma, Lean or continuous improvement training.
  • Proven technical and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of entire product life cycle from development to launch and production.
  • Ability to work with and improve documented manufacturing standards.
