Job summary

Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Advanced Engineering Technician in Scottsdale, AZ to support defense engineering, electromechanical systems, prototype development, system testing, troubleshooting, fabrication and assembly.

The position requires an active DoD Secret security clearance at time of hire and hands‑on experience interpreting complex drawings and schematics, performing system troubleshooting, and installing and maintaining specialized equipment and test apparatus.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, diagrams, schematics, specifications, requirements, standards, and practices.
• Experience performing system- and component-level troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, assembly, calibration, installation, and maintenance of engineering equipment or systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor new technicians supporting advanced engineering and prototype development activities.
• Support the design, testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems and specialized test equipment.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, diagrams, schematics, layouts, specifications, and defined plans, including associated system interfaces.
• Perform complex system-level troubleshooting and isolate faults to the component level.
• Conduct testing, checkout, and troubleshooting using schematics, diagrams, written instructions, verbal descriptions, layouts, and engineering plans.
• Lay out, build, calibrate, adjust, install, and maintain equipment, components, devices, and systems.
• Support experimental design circuitry and laser/light transmission device development and testing.

Senior Advanced Engineering Technician

We are hiring a Senior Advanced Engineering Technician to support advanced defense engineering, electromechanical systems, prototype development, system testing, troubleshooting, fabrication, and assembly activities. This role requires an active DoD Secret security clearance at time of hire and hands‑on experience interpreting complex engineering drawings and schematics, performing system- and component-level troubleshooting, and installing, calibrating, testing, and maintaining specialized equipment and systems.

The Senior Advanced Engineering Technician will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to newer technicians while supporting engineers with prototype electromechanical systems, experimental circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor new technicians supporting advanced engineering and prototype development activities.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Security Clearance: Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire.
• Education: Associate’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, diagrams, schematics, specifications, requirements, standards, and practices.
• Experience performing system-level and component-level troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, assembly, calibration, installation, and maintenance of engineering equipment or systems.
• Specialized functional knowledge with proficiency applying and interpreting complex technical specifications, requirements, standards, and practices.
• Ability to understand the technical implications of work and develop applicable solutions.
